Better then the Jungle Book
As some of you know Joy and I started kicking around the idea of me finding a job working from home so that we could work with Agathos or Acts 29 International in Africa a few months ago. We figured that this would be a long term plan, but last week a position opened up at Desiring God. I've done some minor work with Desiring God related to social media in the past and have virtually met Eric Johnson (director of tech stuff) and Abraham Piper. I applied for the job and they want to fly me out for an interview next week. They told me the interview is just process and the job is basically mine if I want it! The salary (they are out of Minesota) is much less then what I make now, but is an amazing salary by African standards!
I have already dropped emails to JD Senkbile who is spear heading Acts 29's efforts in South Africa and Rob Smith of the Agathos Foundation both of which I have talked to about this idea, but with a much more future date. I'm excited to hear from them to find out where the need is greatest and where we could fit best.
There are a ton of details to figure out (Like the fact that we own a house!) inn such a short period of time but it looks like God has opened this door and we don't doubt he'll sort it all out!
